Swimming pools are one of the best ways to cool off during the summertime. Many people like to spend time around the swimming pool lounging. Adults may also want to supervise children outside of the pool. The poolside area is also a great area for happy hour and lunches and dinners. The problem is that the sun gets extremely hot and people get overheated quickly. Hats and sun visors aren’t enough on hot days. You need to find a way to add shade around your pool so that it is more enjoyable.
If you like to eat or have drinks outside, consider purchasing a table with an umbrella. You can lower the umbrella after use to protect it from bad weather and store it during the wintertime so it that it lasts longer. Many patio tables come with pre-drilled holes in the center of the table for umbrellas. If you are hosting larger parties at your home, you can buy several tables and place them around the swimming pool. Umbrellas come in a wide variety of colors, styles and sizes so that you can create the style you prefer. You can also match the umbrellas to the lounge chairs you’ve purchased to present a cohesive style.
Another option for adding shade near your pool is building a deck that has covered space underneath or on top. Some decks have covered space on top and underneath. Swimmers can sit comfortably while they are resting after swimming, eating or spending time together. You can put out cozy, waterproof seating and tables to make the areas appealing. If you’re hosting a party, you can put food items in the shade to protect them from overheating.
A natural way to create shade around your swimming pool is to plant trees. These provide a great deal of shade and also help protect your home from wind where they are planted. The only downside to this option is that you will end up with leaves or pine needles in your pool. Most people plant trees further away from their swimming pool so they don’t have to deal with the inevitable cleanup.
